Vote with your dollars

Well, as you have all seen, if you are a left or even middle leaning person in your views yo might as well hang it up for the next two years. If our wonderful demolican Feinstein and the nutless congress we voted in for change are any indicator its time to take it into our own hand and hit 'em where it counts.

So this rant does stem from somewhere. I've recently received an offer to open a money market account with one of the corps that love your cash, offer you mileage points, then screw you over.

With that said. I decided that I would like to invest some of my savings into a higher yield account, while supporting the causes I believe in. The first step is to move your money over to a credit union and keep your cash local. Remember local? You money does no good in China...

I started looking around for socially responsible investment firms that offer IRAs, Money Market Accounts, and Mutual Funds. If you move your money to companies that hold the same beliefs that you do you are voting with your dollar everyday.

Check out these companies and decide for yourself:
Domini Funds
Pax Funds
Calvert Funds

These are just a few I have found.

Keep it light

Awesome Blanco Hombre!

You should also take Jello Biafra's advice and tape each one of those self-addressed stamped envelopes that those corporations send to you and tape them on to a brick or large rock. They have to pay the postage by weight.

Vote by taking away their dollars!

Good plan. I will try that one.

I never had the balls (or boobs) to do it, but I always thought it was a cool idea.
